“Kyiv Music Fest”

The symphonic suite of the Professor of LTSNU, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine Andrii Stashevskyi was performed at the 27th International Festival “Kyiv Music Fest”.
The traditional Music Festival, where annually orchestral, choral and chamber music of famous domestic and foreign composers sounds, took place in the first week of October in different concert halls of the capital of Ukraine.
During the Festival, Poltava Symphony Orchestra (under the direction of People’s Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Institute of Culture and Arts of LNU Vitaly Skakun) presented the concert program on October 7. Among the other works, the orchestra performed the symphonic suite “Ancient Kyiv Fresco” of the Professor of Luhansk National University, Honored Artist of Ukraine Andrii Stashevskyi.
“Ancient Kyiv Fresco” is a nine particular program work, intonation and modal base of which is based on the grounds of ancient epic with broad use of modern musical language. The work has already been performed in Luhansk, Kharkov, Poltava (respectively, by Luhansk, Kharkov and Poltava symphony orchestras). The present its performance in Kyiv gave the opportunity to capital lovers of symphonic music to familiarize with musical works of our countryman.
Except the music of Professor of the University Poltava Symphony Orchestra performed the symphonic works of such classics of modern Ukrainian music, as: Alemdar Karamanov (3rd Piano Concerto), Miroslav Skorik (2nd violin concerto), as well as orchestral compositions of Poltava and Crimea composers: Tamara Parulava (4th Symphony), Oleksii Chukhray (“Gogol Road”), Merzie Khalitova (“Necklace of Crimea Cities “).
