Traditional Holiday

Luhansk National University held the traditional holiday – the Health Day.

Combining the university students took place at the Health Day. The educational and research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technology and Tourism; Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies; Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences; Institute of Economy and Business, and the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications provided an opportunity to its students to communicate outdoors, compete in various sports, cook a delicious gruel, and to find new friends.

A significant proportion of the Health Day was a sports program, which was conducted by teachers of the Department of Physical Education: N.A. Haiduk, V. Soldatenko and P.V. Yaroshenko. The Health Day began with a light breakfast, and then the sport events started.

Ten fastest students from institutions united in the teams and began to determine the winners in the relay race. From the first stages, the leadership was taken by the IPMIT, but the loss of the baton was the cause of a new winner – the team of the ICSTT.

The second relay was combined, where in addition to the speed of the participants needed to demonstrate agility and coordination of actions. IEB team showed good start of the first stages and its representatives were successfully in stick ball, perform a quick move in tandem with the ball, and when the turn of the transfer of air balls on the racket, historians “go ahead”, who finish for a moment before representatives of the FUFSC.

The most difficult for coordination was the third relay. It was jumping on one leg in a column, holding the companion’s shoulder, standing in the front. The first attempt was well done by the students-philologists, but on the final approach was done better by the students of the IPMIT and IEB.

After these relays it was organized a break and cooked a delicious gruel for the participants.  The smell of its cooking hovered over the playground.

Fortified, the teams returned to the site for football battles. Whether rest so affected the team, or a delicious gruel, but the weariness was gone. Players moved too active on the field, leading to the delight of their fans, and scoring the ball into the opponent’s gates. Best of all coped “historians” with two wins. The “economists”, in particular women, demonstrated fighting qualities. They came to replace their boys and scored two goals in the gate of the IPMIT.

The highlight of the Health Day was the tug of war. Female gender is a great strength. While boys from institutes were arguing who is stronger in the tug of war, girls from the FUFSC were carefully watching the actions, and then got down to business. Especially when the Deputy Deans L.L. Kolesnikova and N.M. Karlova joined their teams. This was a significant power and moral support for the team against whom could not resist even teachers.

Those who did not get into combined teams, demonstrated their skills on the volleyball court, where the best was the director of IEB V.P. Kmel’. The power quality was demonstrated by the Deputy Director of the IEB S.S. Kharkivska, lifting a weight of 16 kg. The Director of the IPMIT G.A. Mogylny demonstrated his virtuosity in juggling weights. Then the student of the IEB Yaroslav Chemel’ performed with weights.

After the Health Day, teams were awarded with sweet prizes.
