The I Small Olympic Games

On October 6, the I Small Olympic Games took place on the basis of Starobilsk Department of SS “RCPE of LTSNU”.

The main purpose of the Small Olympic Games is to optimize the regime of educational, production process, increase the motor activity of students, activate sports and recreation activities in the professional school, and form the students’ skills of a healthy lifestyle and a responsible attitude to their own health.

Mass physical culture and sports activities play an important role in the system of recreational activities as well as the purpose of their conduct is to attract young people to engage in physical activity, increase their level of physical training, promote a systematic participation in physical activities and sports.

The opening ceremony included the following elements: a parade of motorcycles, a parade of the students’ groups according to their occupation, and congratulations. Then was a ceremonial raising of the Ukrainian flag, the flag of the Olympic Games and the lighting of the Olympic Flame.

After the official opening of the games, a team of aerobics of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology performed at the event. Later the competitions began.

The games program included the following events: cross-country race (1000m for boys, 500 m – for girls), volleyball tournament and football tournament in a circular pattern.

The representatives of the SOS Foundation «Children’s Town», who had held the competitions PLAYBUZZ, supported the event.

At the end of the Games, the winners were awarded with diplomas, medals and valuable gifts.
