Women’s Futsal Championship

The Women’s Futsal Championship took place at LTSNU.

All the time girls were active football fans on the men’s matches in the university championships. That all changed on October 4, when 12 combined teams, which included only women, held their University Futsal Championship. Each match of the Championship was held at the numerous amount of fans. The girls’ playing differs a lot from the boys’ teams by the skills, but it is on the same level with the boy’s teams concerning intensity of the struggle, passion and desire to play.

The teams were divided into four groups, which played in the group, and then group winners determined the winner and prize-winners of the Championship.

The group “A” included teams of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences, and Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College. By the way, last academic year the College held the same tournament. That is why their team was one of the most experienced teams of this Championship.

The first match ER ICSTT – SHPC started with active operations by younger players and at fourth minute they took the lead. Tatiana Podolska opened the score goals of the Championship. In the second half, Karyna Goidenko doubled the score. The final whistle gave the victory to SHPC with a score of 2:0. In the second match, SHPC also won with a score of 2:0.

In the group “B” the futsal players of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports became the winners.

In the group “C” after the games, the team of RCPE Starobilsk Department became the leader. They won the intense match with the minimal score of 1:0 having defeated the team “Olimp” of FUPSC and ER IEB.

Quite interesting matches took place in the group “D”. In the final match, leaders of the group, who had the only one victory – “Zarya” of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the team of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies. Only two minutes before the end of the game, Eugenia Kostyrya from the ER IPMIT scored the only goal in the game and led her team to the final four.

In the final, best of all were girls of SHPC who played an intense struggle and overcame their opponents: first, they beat the players of ER IPES with a score of 2:0, and then with a minimum score of 1:0 they beat RCPE and ER IPMIT.

Representatives of ER IPMIT finished second, the team of the ER IPES became third, having two draws.

 In general, there have been 34 games and the girls were able to score 46 goals. The best bombardier became Eugenia Kostyrya (ER IPMIT) – 3 goals, and Alyona Hudolei was recognized as the best player (ER IPMIT).

The team-winner was awarded with a Memorable Cup, which was kindly provided by the University Trade Union Organization. The teams-medalists were awarded with Diplomas of the University Rectorate. The Chairman of the Trade Union Volodymyr Moroz held the awarding ceremony.
