Students of the Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences visited Luhansk Regional Museum.
Historical memory and the formation of social consciousness are an important part of education at the Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences. Because the memory and the respect to the events of the past are the key to future prosperity and flourishing. For this purpose, an excursion was organized in Luhansk Regional Museum, which became one of the events aimed at adaptation to the students’ learning.
The first year students familiarized with the stages of formation of Starobilsk land, household living conditions of different population groups in certain historical periods, visited the exhibition “The Nature of the Native Land” and “Starobilsk is a County Town”, where they learned a lot of new information about the legends and traditions.
Many students of LTSNU are residents of other regions of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, so the trip to the museum was the first acquaintance with our city.
“I knew about Starobilsk still little. But I was impressed by the guide’s story and exhibits that reflect the life of its inhabitants. I would like to continue visiting architectural monuments in Starobilsk and learn more of its history”, – the student of specialty ”Social Work” Ksenia Tomilko mentioned.
Study of the history of the native land is a stable part of the national consciousness that promotes patriotism education, so a visit to cultural and educational establishments is a necessary component of teaching students.
