Implementation of the Program
13.9.2016
The IPP started implementing the program of psychosocial adaptation of displaced students.
From September 2016 “Center for Psychosocial Adaptation” (the city of Starobilsk) began work on the program “Psychosocial Adaptation of Students of Internally Displaced Persons and Their Families to the Resettlement Conditions” on pursuance of the Memorandum of Cooperation, which was signed by Ukrainian Association of Specialists on overcoming the consequences of traumatic events and the SI ” Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.
Within implementing this program, it is planned to use the leading experience in providing psychological first aid training, creating favorable conditions for successful adaptation of displace persons in the new location.
The first series of studies with the first year students of the University was held by the graduate student of the Department of Social Pedagogy of the Education and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Anton Nazmiev. Students were actively involved in the work on the reconstruction of the image “self-concept”, development of skills stabilizing the psycho-emotional state etc.
It is our firm belief that participation in the program “Psychosocial Adaptation of Internally Displaced Students and Their Families to the Resettlement Conditions” will help displaced students not only to overcome the complex inner psychological states, but also to acquire professional knowledge and skills in the social, educational and psychological assistance to various categories of persons like “risk groups.”
