Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2016

The New Webometrics Ranking was made based on the data received by developers in July 2016.

The Prestigious Spanish research group Cybermetrics Lab has published Webometrics Ranking of World Universities since 2004. It assesses not the educational activities of the University as a whole, but also the presentation of higher education institutions in the global Internet space, which is determined by a special technique, developed in accordance with the Berlin Principles on Ranking of Higher Education Institutions, defined by UNESCO.

The ranking is based on the analysis of official websites of educational institutions. Total 25,000 universities and educational institutions around the world are ranked. Only 12,000 universities are published in the Ranking. The data for determining it meets twice a year, in January and July.

The greatest weight in the Ranking (total 80%) occupies the citation indices of the university on the Internet and in the Scopus database. The Ranking also takes into account the level of implementation in the “open access” policy of the University to the results of research, educational materials, the regulatory framework, and so on.

Among 344 Ukrainian universities presented in the Ranking, our university took the place 71.

Among the higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe LTSNU occupies position 663. We got the place 2084 in the European rankings. In addition, our university took place 5296 in the continental ranking and place 8228 in the world ranking.
