Second Place at the Festival
30.8.2016
The vocal ensemble of students of LTSNU took the second place in the Scouts Cultural Festival of School Youth in Poland.
The Vocal Ensemble “All-Star” works at Luhansk National University under the direction of Olena V. Cherevata who has more than 15 years of experience in the training of young singers of Starobilsk. Her students participated in international competitions, showing the world the beauty and sincerity of the Ukrainian song. Despite the fact that the ensemble members do not have musical education and music for them is a kind of hobby, they consistently show high professionalism and creative achievements in many singing competitions.
This year, the group took part in the Scouts Cultural Festival of School Youth (Kielce, Poland). At the contest, our students performed a difficult a capella song – “Go down, Moses” and received a silver award.
The festival lasted for two weeks. First, a concert for the participants, and then rehearsals and competitive performances were organized. During the festival, the students took part in the festival during which they felt the support of Ukraine by the Polish fans.
The Polish Festival has been held for 43 years. Among the participants are singers from Poland, Ukraine, the USA, Canada and Armenia. The judges from Poland evaluated contestants.
“The Consulate General of Poland in Kharkiv in the face of the Consul General Janusz Jablonski and the head of the “Department of Cooperation with the Poles in Ukraine” Yan Zdanovskiy helped in organizing the trip. Polish organizers supported us throughout the stay in the country by providing financial support” – the head of the group Olena Cherevata told.
The group plans to participate in the event next year, so ahead of fruitful work. Luhansk students once again proved that adequately represent the name of the native Alma Mater at the All-Ukrainian contests and International competitions. Congratulations!
