Participation in the First English-language Summer School

During August 17-20, professors and graduate students of LTSNU participated in the First English-language Summer School of the Ukrainian Association of Educational Researchers.
The Ukrainian Association of Education Researchers in collaboration with the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv held the First English-language Summer School “Educational Research: Communication, Writing Grants, Methodology and Publication”.
With the financial support of the US Embassy in Ukraine, the Summer School became a part of a large-scale year project of the Ukrainian Association of Educational Researchers “Support for the Reform of Higher Education in Ukraine”. The project aims at raising the level of professionalism in the training and research activities of universities, attraction of teachers to the exchange of academic experience, promotion of empirical research education and others.
The purpose of the UAER is to promote information exchange among the foreign and Ukrainian graduates of foreign educational programs, to enhance research competence in the field of education. Indicators of the success of the Association is to improve the quality and quantity of publications Ukrainian scientists in international peer-reviewed journals, the increase in supply of successful grant applications, the expansion of research activities.
38 participants attended the Summer School of the UAER from different regions of Ukraine. Eight of participants represented displaced universities, including three participants from our university. Transparency in the selection procedure allowed to invite the participation of the most competitive and motivated researchers in the field of education.
The work of the School was held for four days, during which the participants had the opportunity to participate in the thirteen English-language training by fifteen trainers from Ukraine and from abroad, in particular the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), Cambridge and University of Edinburgh (UK). Domestic coaches represented universities of Lviv, Drohobych, Uman, Kharkiv, Kherson, Lutsk, Nizhyn.
Trainings were held in the atmosphere of interpersonal interaction of all participants on the basis of mutual respect, openness, trust, active dialogue and discussions that contributed to the development of critical and creative thinking.
It should be noted the high professional level and the relevance of the event, the emotional atmosphere of comfort, active communication, a good combination of theoretical and practical training, a sincere interest in productive cooperation. We are sure that holding of the School will apply the knowledge and skills to enhance the scientific competence of members of the Association and in general improve the quality of Ukrainian higher education.
