Opening of the Fan Zone

On August 6, the fan zone of XXXI Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was opened in the city of Kreminna.

During these competitions our Luhansk region will be represented by eleven athletes: divers Hanna Krasnoshlyk,  Anastasia Nedobiga and Oleksandr Gorshkovozov, weightlifters Anastasia Shishanova and Oleksandr Peleshenko, cyclists Lyubov Basova and Hanna Solovey, athletes Serhii Smelik, Elyzaveta Bryzgina and Natalia Strogova, gymnast Maksym Semyankiv. Eight of them are graduates and students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The opening program included a ceremonial raising of the Olympic flag, children’s dance performances and creative teams of the city of Kreminna.

The event was attended by students and teachers of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, students of Kreminna educational institutions, managers and employees of the sports profile institutions, champions, winners and participants of the Olympic Games.

The fan zone of the XXXI Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will run from August 6 to 21, 2016 in the “Art Cafe”. Everybody will have an opportunity to watch live broadcasts and retransmissions of the Olympiad competitions on the big screen.
