Results of the 1st Stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “General Ecology”

The winners of the Olympiad in the discipline “General Ecology” have been determined at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology. 

On March 18, 2026, at the Faculty of Natural and Agrarian Sciences, on the basis of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology, the 1st stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “General Ecology” took place. Students majoring “Ecology” took part in the event. The participants were offered a set of competitive tasks aimed at testing the level of theoretical knowledge, analytical thinking and the ability to apply ecological approaches to solving practical problems. The tasks covered key issues of ecosystem functioning, assessment of anthropogenic impact on the environment and identification of ways to minimize it.

Based on the results of the examination of the competition works, the jury determined the winners of the Olympiad:

• 1st place – Artem Makaida
• 2nd place – Oleksii Sobyna
• 3rd place – Vladyslav Aksenchuk and Vitalii Hontsul

All participants demonstrated the appropriate level of training, interest in the profession and a desire to deepen their professional knowledge.

Holding student Olympiads is an important element of the educational process, as it contributes to the development of critical thinking, the formation of research competencies, the activation of students’ cognitive activity and increasing their competitiveness. Such events also create conditions for identifying gifted youth and stimulate them to further scientific activity.
