Guest Lecture “Innovative Technologies in Translation: CAT Tools and Machine Translation”

On March 19, the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences hosted a guest lecture devoted to current issues in Translation Studies.
Students of the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels of higher education from Foreign Languages Department and Literary Studies and Oriental Philology Department joined the discussion of contemporary trends in the field of translation.
The speaker of the event was Oksana Vorobiova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Translation Theory and Practice of Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University. In her lecture, she focused on innovative technologies actively introduced into translation practice, in particular the use of CAT tools.
Participants of the lecture gained valuable knowledge about modern software solutions that help translators work faster and more efficiently. They also discussed the basic functionality and advantages of applying CAT tools in professional translation activities. The lecture became an important platform for dialogue on the future of the translation profession and the development of competencies necessary for successful work in today’s globalized world.
