Start of the Project Under the ERASMUS+ Program

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has launched the BEAUCOUP project under the ERASMUS+ program.
On February 3, 2026, the first organizational meeting was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University to launch the project “Boosting Digital Excellence and Aptitude of Universities in the Countries of East Partnership” (abbreviated BEAUCOUP) under the ERASMUS+ program.
The project covers the general priority of the digital transformation of the education system (development and implementation of digital skills) and aims to:
- Increase the digital competence of teachers and help them become more effective in a technology-oriented educational environment.
- Encourage university staff to be more open to the implementation of new tools and applications for the digitalization of work processes, protection of natural resources and a more sustainable future.
- Develop university potential to ensure sustainable digital professional development for teachers at the regional and national levels.
- Encourage the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to support innovative steps of universities and share their results.
The project content includes updating educational programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels of education by:
- Developing a survey toolkit “Digital skills and competence of local teachers”;
- Updating 7 courses of the bachelor’s program for training preschool educators;
- Updating 7 courses of the bachelor’s and master’s programs for training school teachers;
- Launching a new course for bachelor’s programs “Educational technologies and robotics in preschool education” for educational programs;
- Launching a new course (3 ECTS) for bachelor’s and master’s programs “ICT tools in school education for the development of creative, critical and analytical thinking” for such programs;
- Launching a new course (3 ECTS) for postgraduate students “Educational technologies and digital competence for teaching” for 25 postgraduate students by specialty.
The project participants were leading European and Ukrainian higher education institutions, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The team from our university is represented by 20 people from among the administrative staff (rectorate, international relations department, information technology center, deans/directors) and scientific and pedagogical workers of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The project coordinator from the university is the rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Olena Karaman; the manager is Valeriya Vasyk, a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The implementation of the project will contribute to improving the quality of educational programs and educational activities of the university, creating a STEM environment for training specialists, developing digital competence of teachers and future teachers, and strengthening the authority of the university in the European educational space.
