Unity Day of Ukraine

Unity Day of Ukraine is a holiday celebrated annually on January 22, the day of the proclamation of the Act of Union of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1919.

This historical event became a symbol of the age-old aspiration of Ukrainians for unity, freedom and state independence.

On this day, we remember another fateful date – January 22, 1918, when the IV Universal of the Ukrainian Central Rada was adopted, proclaiming the full independence of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. It was a bold step worthy of a great people who declared to the whole world their right to their own state, language, culture and future.

More than a century ago, Ukrainians made a powerful manifestation of the people’s will for self-determination and national consolidation. Then the world saw the true strength of the Ukrainian spirit, the indivisibility of our land and the invincibility of our nation.

Today, as a hundred years ago, the Day of the Union has a special, deep meaning. Our best sons and daughters are once again forced to defend the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine with weapons in their hands. In the conditions of Russia’s brutal war of aggression against our state, which brought so much pain, loss and destruction, we have once again proven to the whole world: Ukrainians are invincible, because they are united.

Our strength is in unity. Our faith is in victory. Our truth is with us. And as long as we are together, as long as we hold on to each other, Ukraine will live, fight and win.

On this day, the wholel our university staff sincerely congratulates each of you on the Day of Unity – a holiday of the Ukrainian spirit, dignity and national unity. We wish you strength, courage, faith and unbreakable hope. May peace, love, harmony and mutual understanding reign in every Ukrainian family.

Glory to Ukraine!

Glory to the Ukrainian people!

Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
