HOW TO CHOOSE A FOURTH SUBJECT AT NMT

We answer your questions. The fourth subject is not a formality. Its result can add several important points to the competitive score or, conversely, reduce the chances of admission.

During admission, the weighting coefficient of the fourth subject plays an important role, which is different for different specialties.

For example:

  • if you know a foreign language well and plan to enter philology or political science, this is a good choice, because a foreign language has a high coefficient for these specialties;
  • if you are entering a technical or engineering specialty, sometimes it is more profitable to choose a subject with a higher coefficient, even if you know it a little worse.
  • The conclusion is simple: the 4th subject of the NMT should be chosen not according to the principle of “the easiest”, but taking into account the specialty and the maximum benefit for the competitive score.
