Formation of Academic Integrity of Students

The leading librarian of our university held an informational meeting on the formation of academic integrity of students.

On December 26, an information meeting was held with Oksana Shevchyk, the leading librarian of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, for first-year students of the master’s students majoring in I10 “Social Work and Counseling” under the educational program “Social Work and Counseling. Psychosocial Services”. The topic of the event was “Academic Integrity in Higher Education Institutions”.

During the meeting, the lecturer introduced the master’s students to the basic principles of academic integrity, emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards in educational and research activities. Special attention was paid to types of academic dishonesty, in particular plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication and falsification of data, copying, unfair review and bribery.

Oksana Shevchyk provided practical recommendations on the effective use of library resources in the process of preparing scientific papers, emphasizing the importance of correct formatting of references and the list of sources used in accordance with the requirements of academic standards.

The meeting ended with a discussion of practical aspects of observing the principles of academic integrity and awareness of its role in the professional development of future social work specialists. As a result of participation, all students received certificates.
