Deprivation of a Scientific Degree

The Rector of the illegal university of so-called Luhansk People’s Republic was deprived of a scientific degree.

On July 1, 2016, the regular meeting of the Certification Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was held.

The agenda included:

• scientific dishonesty while writing and defending a thesis: text loans, the use of ideas, research results and materials of other authors without links to sources;
• deprivation of a scientific degree.

According to review of expert opinions of the Specialized Scientific Council for doctoral (PhD) dissertation in Pedagogy of the Academy of the Institute of Education Problems of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University on the existence of plagiarism in the dissertation of Valery L. Filippov “Organization of Pedagogical Interaction with Young People – College Students – As the Best Condition of Their Social Formation”, defended in 2004, it was unanimously decided to deprive Valerii L. Filippov of the scientific degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.

Now V.L. Filippov is the Rector of the illegal university “Luhansk M. L. Matusovsky Academy of Culture and Arts” performing an illegal educational activity on the territory of the so-called LPR.
