Rector’s Address to the University’s Educational Community

Rector Olena Karaman addressed the educational community of our university with gratitude for their incredible resilience and loyalty to their profession.

Dear colleagues, students, and our entire large university family!

The last weekend of 2025 has arrived. This is that special time when the hubbub in the classrooms subsides, and the air is filled with a sense of anticipation of something bright and new. We are on the verge of changing calendar dates, but before turning this page, I want to stop and simply thank you.

This year was not easy, but we went through it with our heads held high. We did not just “work” – we created the future despite all the challenges.

I sincerely thank our entire educational community for their incredible resilience and loyalty to their calling. Thank you for every lecture, for every scientific discovery, for your patience and wisdom. You are the heart of our university, which beats in unison with the fate of the whole country. I thank our students for the energy and sincerity that inspire us not to stop.

I wish each of you this weekend to finally put aside all your affairs, turn off notifications in messengers and simply be in the circle of those who are dear to you. May the peace of these days give you all the strength for new achievements.

May 2026 bring us the most desired – Victory and Peace!

Happy holidays! Thank you to each of you for remaining a single, close-knit family.

Sincerely yours, Olena KARAMAN,
Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University
