Guest Lecture by Wolf Bloemers (Germany)

On December 16, Professor, Doctor, Honorary Doctor of 3 Ukrainian Universities, Head of European Programs Wolf Bloemers gave a guest lecture at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

As part of the event, the speaker presented a lecture on the topic “Educational, social and therapeutic work with refugees and migrants – in the context of cultural differences and otherness”, which highlighted modern European approaches to working with people with experience of forced displacement, the features of intercultural interaction and taking into account cultural sensitivity in the professional activities of social professionals.

The lecture was attended by applicants for the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education majoring in I10 “Social work and counseling” and 231 “Social work” under the educational programs “Social work and counseling. Psychosocial services”, “Social work. Social pedagogy. Practical psychology” and “Social work”.

Guest lectures with the participation of international experts contribute to improving the quality of training of future social work specialists, expanding their professional outlook and forming intercultural competence.
