Guest Lecture by Fredrik Malm and Jenny Hoglund (Sweden)

On December 9, a guest binary lecture by Dr. of Social Work, Bachelor’s Program Manager at Karlstadt University, Jenny Hoglund, and Fredrik Malm, Special Education Teacher, Special Needs Teacher at Nobelgymnasium, was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The speakers presented a lecture on the topic “Health of schoolchildren in Sweden. Vocational and technical schools”, within which they revealed modern approaches to social support for students who have difficulties with adaptation, experience stressful conditions or face behavioral addictions. Special attention was paid to Swedish models of interdisciplinary interaction between teachers, social workers and psychologists in educational institutions.

Students of the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education majoring in 110 “Social Work and Counseling” and 231 “Social Work” under the educational programs “Social work and counseling. Psychosocial services”, “Social work. Social pedagogy. Practical psychology” and “Social work” joined the lecture and actively interacted.

The participants demonstrated a high level of interest, actively participated in the discussion and asked numerous questions about the peculiarities of the Swedish system of educational and social support. The event contributed to the expansion of the professional worldview of the students and the strengthening of international cooperation of the university.
