Celebration of Constitution Day

On June 28, teachers and students of LTSNU took part in the regional festive events dedicated to the Constitution Day.

On June 28, 1996, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the first Constitution of the sovereign Ukrainian state as the main law of the country at the regular session. This event cemented the law basis of the independent state and became a huge step in the development of the democratic Ukrainian society.

At the beginning of the event the chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, head of the regional military and civil administration to the gathering Y. G. Garbuz made a welcoming speech. He expressed hope for a speedy end of the tragic events in the Luhansk region and wished all citizens of Ukraine understanding and love.

Luhansk residents including teachers, health workers, businesspersons and public figures were awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Ukraine and the Regional State Administration for the active civil position, high professional achievements and personal contribution to the socio-economic, cultural and educational development of the region.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day of Ukraine the chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration officially awarded the ID-cards to the 16-year-old boys and girls.

The People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LNU Vitalii Kurylo congratulated the Luhansk residents on behalf of the Verkhovna Rada. “The Constitution is a document by which our country and each of its citizen live. I wish that any citizen or the state would never violate those rights and freedoms that are in the Constitution. I wish everyone could feel the protection of the Constitution personally.” – Vitalii Semenovych mentioned.

It has become a tradition to lay flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko. The Genius of Ukrainian poetic was honored by the People’s deputy of Ukraine V.S. Kurylo, chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Y.G. Garbuz, the regional administration, the management of cities and districts of the region, representatives of public organizations and residents of the city of Starobilsk, as well as teachers and students of LTSNU.

The Constitution came into the public life as the main guardian of democracy and statehood, a guarantor of independence and catholicity of Ukraine. It is the highest legal force, the rule of law, political, economic and ideological diversity – the fundamental principles for the present and the future of the Ukrainian people.
