Guest Lecture by Mykyta Peregrym

How discoveries are born: a guest lecture by Mykyta Peregrym on new species of flora of Ukraine.

On December 5, 2025, an important educational event was held – a guest lecture by Mykyta Peregrym, Candidate of Biological Sciences, researcher at the University of Oulu (Finland) and senior lecturer at the Department of Horticulture and Ecology of the Faculty of Natural and Agrarian Sciences of LTSNU. The event brought together students, teachers, young scientists and everyone who is interested in botany and modern areas of ecological research.

In his report, Mykyta Mykolayovych focused on a key issue that worries both beginners and experienced researchers: how to make botanical discoveries. The lecturer emphasized that the desire to find something new and unknown is one of the main driving forces of science, and botany is one of those fields where discoveries are possible even today, despite the two-hundred-year history of research into Ukrainian flora.
