Webinar Within the Campaign “16 Days Against Violence”

On December 5, the Social Pedagogy Department took part in the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence”.

A meaningful and practically oriented online webinar was organized for students.

The speaker was Alena KUZNETSOVA, an expert and trainer of the NGO “La Strada – Ukraine”, as well as a 4th year bachelor’s  student majoring in 231 “Social Work”. She presented a thorough and at the same time accessible analysis of the forms of violence in modern society, outlined the mechanisms of professional response and emphasized the importance of competent interagency interaction.

The event was attended and actively interacted by students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education in the specialties “Social Work and Counseling”, “Social Work” and “Psychology” in the educational programs: “Social Work and Counseling. Psychosocial Services”, “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology” and “Psychology”.

During the webinar, participants learned about: hidden and atypical forms of violence; key indicators of danger and ways to recognize them; a professional algorithm of actions in crisis situations, taking into account ethical and legal norms; services that need to be involved for interagency interaction; typical mistakes of novice specialists in the field of assistance to victims.

Particular attention was paid to the analysis of real cases, which allowed students to see the practical dimension of their future profession and realize the complexity of situations that they may encounter during their professional activities.

Students actively asked questions, participated in discussions and offered their own options for responding, which made the event dynamic and valuable from the point of view of professional growth.

At the end of the webinar, each participant will receive a certificate for their participation and the professional knowledge gained during the event.
