Practical Online Course “Inclusion in Education”
2.12.2025
The Special Education Department of LTSNU reports on the participation of teachers and students in the practical online course “Inclusion in Education”, which took place on November 18–19.
The event, organized by the State Institution “IMZO” and the NGO “ASTRO”, was an excellent opportunity for professional growth, advanced training and exchange of experience. The following took part in the online courses:
– Iryna Volodymyrivna Makarenko, a lecturer of the Special Education Department;
– 3rd and 4th year students majoring in “Special Education”.
For two days, the participants delved deeply into the issues of inclusion – a key element of the modern education system. They had the opportunity to listen to reports from leading Ukrainian scientists and practitioners, including Halyna Kolomoiets, Tetiana Skrypnyk, Natalia Sumska and others. The speakers presented current research, shared effective methods and practical advice on the implementation of inclusive education.
During the course, special attention was paid to the importance of creating a barrier-free educational environment – a fundamental condition for ensuring equal access to quality education for every child.
The analysis of inclusive practices in Ukraine in comparison with other countries, in particular, familiarization with the successful experience of Finland, became extremely valuable. This motivates the department to continue implementing the best global approaches in its own educational activities.
The Special Education Department continues to actively work on integrating the latest knowledge and practices into the educational process. Participation in such events not only broadens the professional outlook of teachers and students, but also provides students with relevant competencies necessary for successful work in the field of inclusive education.
