Academic Council Meeting

On November 21, a regular meeting of the University Academic Council was held remotely.
The following issues were on the agenda:
- achievements and problems of cooperation between the ER IA and the ER ITT with stakeholders;
- miscellaneous.
The director of the Institute of Technologies and Trade, Eduard Potapenko, and the director of the Institute of Arts, Iryna Prodan, made a report on the achievements and problems of cooperation between their institutes with stakeholders. It was noted that both institutes have established cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, the purpose of which is to improve the quality of training of specialists, ensure their competitiveness in the labor market, and bring the content of educational programs as close as possible to the real needs of employers. The involvement of education seekers in feedback as key stakeholders was analyzed, in particular, at the stage of developing and updating educational programs. Work with other groups of internal stakeholders is also systematic: teachers, administrative staff, and university management.
During the coverage of cooperation with external stakeholders, the need for wider involvement of graduates of educational programs was emphasized, the feedback from which allows for a realistic assessment of the extent to which the formed competencies satisfy the modern labor market. In turn, cooperation with employers takes place in several directions. They are involved in the development and updating of educational programs, provide a base of practices, participate in the educational process and certification as invited practitioners, contribute to the logistical support of the educational process, etc. In addition, cooperation with public organizations is fruitful.
At the same time, the Academic Council noted that the guarantors of educational programs do not sufficiently involve students and graduates in the development, assessment of the quality of educational programs and their improvement, departments do not fully use connections with employers to organize internships and further employment of graduates, cooperation with domestic and foreign higher education institutions regarding academic mobility has not reached the proper level, and the capabilities of employers in implementing interdisciplinary educational programs and dual education have not been sufficiently studied.
Among the miscellaneous, a decision was made to create a one-time specialized academic council to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, approve the topic of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, grant academic leave, recommend for publication of scientific and educational and methodological works, approve the final report on the results of the project on the implementation of scientific research (development) “Formation of critical thinking of citizens as a factor of security in conditions of armed violence and information aggression in the East of Ukraine”, as well as on reorganization in the structure of the Faculty of Health Care and Sports.
