Guest Lecture on Current Issues of Stuttering (Luxembourg)
10.11.2025
On November 5, a guest lecture was held on the current issues of stuttering, initiated by the Special Education Department.
Anna Semianysta, a specialist in inclusive education and a teacher at the International School of Ashe and Differdange (Luxembourg), was invited to participate in the event, and she shared her own international work experience.
A special feature of the event was that the lecture was held in English, which gave the participants, teachers and higher education students, a double advantage: the opportunity to receive valuable professional information and at the same time improve practical skills in professional English.
During her speech, Ms. Anna focused in detail on the issues of classifying forms of tempo-rhythmic disorder and the features of corrective work with people who stutter. The audience was particularly interested in the presentation of European speech therapy practice and the specifics of the work of speech therapists in Luxembourg.
The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the international context of speech therapists’ activities, compare Ukrainian and European approaches to overcoming speech disorders and gain a lot of useful knowledge for their own professional development.
At the end of the event, a lively question and answer session took place, during which Ms. Anna provided comprehensive and professional comments. Students also had the opportunity to present short reports in English, which contributed to the formation of intercultural communication.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere of professional exchange of views, and its outcome was an agreement on further cooperation between the Special Education Department and the invited lecturer – another confirmation of the university’s desire to internationalize the educational process and develop partnerships with foreign specialists.
