Online Event “Academic Integrity”

On October 13, teachers of the Department of Economics and Marketing and students of the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education of the educational program “Economics” and the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education of the educational program “Marketing” joined the online event “Academic Integrity”.

The organizer, moderator and main speaker of the event was the leading librarian of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, head of the School of Academic Integrity of the university, Oksana SHEVCHYK.

The purpose of the event was to deepen the understanding of ethical standards in scientific and educational activities, which is the basis for building trust in learning outcomes and scientific achievements.

During the meeting, the speaker of the event reviewed the key principles of academic integrity. She emphasized the consequences of violating the norms of integrity, such as plagiarism, falsification of data or copying, and also explained how this affects the reputation of a scientist.

Ms. Oksana paid special attention to practical recommendations on avoiding plagiarism, correct citations and the use of scientific sources.

The meeting was an important step towards creating a culture of academic integrity among higher education students and young researchers of the Department of Economics and Marketing and contributed to improving the quality of education at the university.
