“The Ukrainian Cossack State of the 17th Century”

An open lecture “The Ukrainian Cossack State of the 17th Century” was held. New formats of academic communication and exchange of experience.

On October 15, students majoring in “Secondary Education (History and Civics)” had the opportunity to join the open lecture of Oksana Zakharivna Sylka, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of International Relations and Social Sciences of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, on the topic “The Ukrainian Cossack State of the 17th Century”.

The lecture was held within the educational component “History of Ukraine” and became a vivid example of modern academic communication that goes beyond the boundaries of one university. Such initiatives create space for scientific dialogue, exchange of experience, comparison of methodological approaches and understanding of different interpretations of historical events.

The second-year students who are currently studying the issues of the Cossack era and the Ukrainian National Revolution of 1648–1657 were able to familiarize themselves with the vision of these events in the context of the scientific school of NUBiP of Ukraine. As part of her speech, Oksana Zakharivna presented a deep analytical overview of the formation and development of the Ukrainian Cossack state of the 17th century, highlighting the prerequisites for its emergence, the key stages of the Ukrainian National Revolution of 1648–1657, the processes of the formation of the Hetmanate and its historical significance. The lecture was distinguished by its systematicity, clear logical structure and reliance on primary sources, historical documents, modern scientific research and digital resources, which significantly expand the educational opportunities of students. The links to online platforms and electronic archives were especially valuable for the listeners, which help integrate digital technologies into the study of history, making the educational process more dynamic and closer to the requirements of the time.

Cooperation between the Department of History and Archaeology of LTSNU and the Department of International Relations and Social Sciences of the NUBiP of Ukraine contributes to the exchange of experience, the expansion of professional contacts and the mutual enrichment of the educational process.
