Day of Defenders of Ukraine at the ER INAS
1.10.2025
On September 30, on the eve of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, a general online meeting entitled “Let’s Bow to the Defenders of Ukraine” was held at the Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences.
October 1 is a special day. It combines the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, and a modern holiday in honor of the warrior-defenders. This is a symbol of the invincibility of the Ukrainian people throughout the centuries.
The event opened with the National Anthem of Ukraine. Violetta LITVYNENKO-KOROTKOVA, a 1st-year student majoring in E2 Ecology, interestingly told those present about the prerequisites for the emergence of the holiday, its deep meaning, and relevance.
Yelyzaveta SEREDA, a 2nd-year student majoring in E4 Earth Sciences, prepared a historical excursion into the history of the Cossacks, because where there is a Cossack spirit, there is an invincible Ukraine. And our current defenders are the continuers of the glorious traditions of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
A separate topic of discussion at the meeting was the power of the volunteer movement, which today has become an integral part of our struggle. Viktoriia BORYSENKO, a 1st year student majoring in E4 Earth Sciences, prepared a meaningful presentation about the volunteer movement in Ukraine, its origins, tasks, and significance; about Ukrainian volunteers and foundations that help the most during the war. The speaker also spoke in detail about the volunteer activities of our university, the power of volunteerism that unites Ukrainians in times of trial.
With special trepidation, those present honored the memory of our teachers and students who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. They will forever remain in the hearts of the Shevchenko community as an example of courage, sacrifice, and love for the Motherland.
May this day remind each of us of the power of unity, indomitable spirit, and boundless gratitude to those who defend our country. The power of memory and unity makes Ukraine invincible.
We are proud of the defenders of Ukraine, we are infinitely grateful to them and we believe that there will definitely be a peaceful sky over Ukraine!
