On September 29, a guest lecture by Professor, Doctor of Political Science, Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Institute of Humanitarian and Social Sciences of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” BUCHYN MYKOLA ANTONOVYCH on the topic “Elections in Wartime: Expediency, Problems and Prospects” was held for students majoring in”Political Science” (first, second and third levels of higher education), “International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies” (first level of higher education) on the topic “Elections in Wartime: Expediency, Problems and Prospects”.

In his lecture, Mykola Antonovych examined in detail the issue of elections in wartime, their expediency, what problems and prospects are for Ukraine. Elections are the main instrument of democratic expression of will, which ensures the legitimacy of the government and the participation of citizens in the formation of the political course of the state. However, in times of war, holding elections becomes an extremely complex issue, as martial law restricts certain rights and freedoms, and security risks can affect the fairness, openness, and competitiveness of the electoral process.
