Musical Improvisation

The Department of Musical Art and Choreography held an open lecture on musical improvisation in song compositions.
On September 23, at the Department of Musical Art and Choreography, Kostiantyn Krepak — Honored Artist, Associate Professor, and Lecturer — held an open lecture “Musical Improvisation as a Means of Self-Expression of a Creative Personality in Modern Society.”
At the lecture, Mr. Kostiantyn spoke about the subtleties of improvisation in all genres of music: from classical to jazz, as well as in rock and rap styles. According to the lecturer, the mood of improvisation will always depend on the mood of the musician himself — and even in the morning there may be one melody, and in the evening a completely different one. Then the lecturer played his own compositions written on his improvisation on the instrument, for a visual example, which has the form of improvisation. In addition, we considered vocals in the context of this topic: we discussed the features of pop singing and listened to examples of singers with unique highlights in their performance.
The guests of the lecture are grateful that thanks to the ER IA and the Department of Musical Art and Choreography itself they can obtain such unique information for further career development.
