GFPS SCHOLARSHIP FOR UKRAINIAN STUDENTS FOR THE SUMMER SEMESTER 2026

Applications are now open for a one-semester GFPS e.V. scholarship for Ukrainian students who wish to spend a semester studying at a public university in Germany during the summer semester of 2026. The programme provides monthly financial support of €992, assistance with enrollment, support from local GFPS groups, as well as free participation in two academic and cultural seminars at the beginning and end of the semester.

Eligible applicants are citizens of Ukraine who are enrolled in full-time study programmes, are under 26 years of age, and will remain students throughout the scholarship period. A mandatory requirement is knowledge of the German language at B2 CEFR level or higher. Academic achievements, active involvement in civic life, a promising research project, and readiness to implement it during the study period in Germany will play an important role in the selection process. The project topic may be academic or practical – for example, in the form of an exhibition or a workshop.

Applications are accepted until 15 October 2025. The selection procedure includes an assessment of written documents and an interview in German with candidates who successfully pass the first stage. The application package must include a motivation letter in German, a short description of ideas for the semester project, a transcript of records, proof of enrollment, a certificate of German language proficiency, and, if possible, a recommendation letter from a faculty member or a civil society organisation.
