Academic Council Meeting

On August 29, the first meeting of the university’s academic council in the new academic year was held in a mixed format.
The following issues were on the agenda:
- Approval of the work plan of the Academic Council for 2025-2026 academic year;
- Beginning of the new 2025-2026 academic year;
- Miscellaneous.
During the consideration of the first issue, the chairman of the Academic Council of the university, Vitalii Kurylo, spoke about the work plan of the Academic Council for 2025-2026 academic year. The plan was approved by open vote, taking into account the proposals and comments submitted by the members of the Academic Council.
The Rector of the university, Olena Karaman, made a report on the beginning of the new 2025-2026 academic year. During her speech, Olena Leonidivna singled out the regulatory documents that guide the administration of the higher education institution and described the measures to prepare the university for the new academic year. Thus, current repairs were carried out to the classrooms, corridors, shelter, library, marketing department, veteran development center, and television studio in the educational building of Lubny, the dates of the start of the academic year for students of the first (bachelor’s) level and the second year of the second (master’s) level were determined – from September 1, 2025, for students of the first year of the second (master’s) and third (PhD) levels – from October 1, 2025, and the formats of the educational process in 2025 – 2026 were approved (for full-time education – mixed (face-to-face and distance learning), for part-time education – distance learning).
In order to ensure the successful development of the university, strategic goals and directions of its activities for 2025 – 2026 were determined: development and approval of a new development strategy, bringing the structure and areas of activity of the institution into line with the current legislation of Ukraine, development of the university in the aggregate of all areas of activity (formation of the student contingent, improving the quality of the personnel, ensuring the quality of education, development of scientific research and innovation activities, activation of international activities and the process of internationalization of university education, modernization of the content and technologies of social and humanitarian work, strengthening partnership with student self-government, development of the material and technical base, social infrastructure and a safe educational environment for all participants in the educational process, improvement of financial and economic activities. The tasks of the HEI’s activities within these goals and areas were formulated, aimed at preserving and developing the university in conditions of martial law and post-war recovery, each of which the rector paid special attention to during her report.
Among other things, the issue of amending the Regulations on the Library of LTSNU was considered, curricula for the level of professional pre-higher education, approval and correction of dissertation topics, granting academic leave, recommendation for publication of scientific and educational and methodological works, initiation of a petition for recognition of teachers, employees and students of the university.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the academic council, Vitalii Kurylo, announced the awards of teachers and employees of the university. The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Marina Yepikhina, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Arts, Iryna Prodan, Director of the Lysychansk Pedagogical Professional College, Oksana Beis, Head of the Document Management Department, Olga Kaplya, and Head of the Personnel Department, Vita Nykytenko, were awarded the badge of the MES of Ukraine “Excellent in Education”. The honorary distinctions will be presented during celebrations in honor of the beginning of the new academic year on September 1.
