Participation in a Chinese Translation Contest

Students of the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation took part in a Chinese Translation Contest.

Chinese language students from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University proudly represented the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation in the All-Ukrainian Chinese Translation Contest.

In April 2025, the Confucius Institute at Kyiv National Linguistic University announced a nationwide competition for Chinese language learners – school students and university students (in the field of translation), on the occasion of the celebration of UN Chinese Language Day.

Third-year students Daryna Derevianko (educational program “Language and Literature (Chinese, English)”) and Anastasiia Sukhyna (educational program “Translation (English and Second Foreign Language – Chinese)”) participated in the contest.

In addition, one representative of the university was invited to join the jury: Associate Professor of the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation, Yuliia Malakhova.

We sincerely thank our talented girls for representing the university with excellence, demonstrating a high level of language proficiency, and striving for new achievements. Their participation was a vivid example of motivation and a deep interest in developing their skills and abilities. We wish them continued success, creative discoveries, and many confident steps toward professional growth!

Special thanks to Yuliia Malakhova for her expert support, professional evaluation of the contestants’ work, and active engagement in the academic community.
