Improving the Qualifications of Teachers

Teachers of the Department of Health Care and Rehabilitation of the ER IHCS have successfully completed advanced training courses in transfusion immunology.

Lecturers of the Department of Health Care and Rehabilitation of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports — Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Dmytrivna Boiarchuk and PhD Oleksii Eduardovych Hranovskyi — successfully completed advanced training courses in transfusion immunology at the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute of NTU “KhPI”.

As part of the training, the lecturers improved their knowledge and practical skills in the field of transfusion immunology, got acquainted with modern methods of laboratory screening, rules for conducting immunohematological studies, as well as with the latest approaches to blood antigen typing.

Special attention was paid to the study of alloantibody screening methods, as well as practical research on typing erythrocyte antigens of recipients according to transfusion-relevant systems: ABO, Rh and Kell.

The knowledge and experience gained will be useful both in professional activities and in the preparation of students for medical specialties.
