New Equipment for the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Ecology

The Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Ecology of LTSNU received new equipment.

The educational and research laboratory of chemistry, biology and ecology of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has once again been replenished with modern equipment – thanks to the sincere help of caring friends and volunteers who are united by the common idea of supporting science, education and environmental awareness.

The students of LTSNU met the renovation of the laboratory with great enthusiasm. The young people were enthusiastically unpacking the sent parcels, were interested in the purpose of each device, and discussed the possibilities for practical research. Their eyes shone with sincere joy and gratitude – because it is such gifts that open up new horizons in education and science for them.

An extremely significant contribution to this good cause was made by Serhii Hlotov, an active researcher, member of the Scientific Council of the Luhansk Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Ecological League, a junior researcher at the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Luhansk Nature Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a senior lecturer at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences, a participant in the 27th and 28th Ukrainian Antarctic expeditions, a candidate of biological sciences, an associate professor, a photo artist and, very importantly, a volunteer scientist who has been supporting the activities of the university for more than one year.

Thanks to the initiative of Serhii Hlotov and his friends from Luxembourg the laboratory received a new batch of chemical equipment. A chemistry teacher from Luxembourg, Georges Lucius, contacted the relevant educational institution in his country and facilitated the transfer of the equipment to the Ukrainian university.

An honorary graduate of our university’s Faculty of Natural Sciences, a Luhansk resident Kateryna Mostova, who is currently in Luxembourg, took on the logistics: she carefully organized the packaging, shipment, and registration of the humanitarian cargo. And another Luhansk resident — Yulia Kishenko — found the fastest and most profitable way of delivery so that the laboratory equipment would reach the laboratory.

Kateryna Mostova and Yulia Kishenko are longtime friends of Serhii Hlotov, whom he met during the Revolution of Dignity on the Luhansk Euromaidan. Their volunteer activities have not stopped to this day — they continue to actively help the military, displaced persons, educators, and doctors.

This equipment is not just a set of flasks and chemical dishes. It is a symbol of unity, mutual support, and trust between Ukrainian scientists, educators, and international partners. This is another step towards improving the quality of the educational process, developing a modern laboratory base and forming a new generation of environmentally responsible specialists.
We sincerely thank everyone who joined this noble cause: Serhii Hlotov for his initiative and tireless work, George Lucius for his goodwill and participation, Kateryna Mostova and Yulia Kishenko for their organization and support.

Together we create a space for high-quality education and real science.

Together we are an invincible team!

The doors of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University are open to everyone who seeks change!
