Final Module of the Program

From July 2 to 5, the team of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University participated in the fourth, final session of the Academic Managers Professional Development Program. 

The session of the Academic Managers Professional Development Program was held at Mariupol State University in Kyiv. The program is implemented within the World Bank Project “UIHERP – Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results Project” with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the British Council.

The team consisted of: Viktor BURDUN, Head of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourism Business; Svitlana VOVK, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Sciences; Olha DROBYSHEVA, Scientific Secretary of the University Academic Council, Yulia NUZHNA, Deputy Director for Academic and Scientific Work in Social Sciences and Humanities, Yaroslava YURKIV, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work.

The fourth module was dedicated to the topic “Finance, Projects, Resources” and consisted of thematic sessions and practical tasks covering relevant management areas in the higher education system:

• Educational Policy and Modern Management Challenges.
• International projects and grants, the work of the project office.
• Commercialization of science and technology transfer.
• Partnership with business: opportunities and models of interaction.
• Risk management, crisis management, data-based decision-making, digitalization of financial management.
• Best practices of foreign experience.

These topics are crucial for the formation of the university’s strategic financial independence: providing additional resources for the development of research, modernization of infrastructure and improving the quality of education.

The training has been completed, while work on the materials of the Program continues. The team continues to work on the institutional project of changes, which is to be presented during the final conference in September.
