“History of Luhansk Region Without Myths”

On June 26, students and teaching staff of the Regional Center for Professional Education of LTSNU joined the Event “History of Luhansk Region Without Myths”.

The event was hosted by Oleksandr NABOKA — Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Local History Expert of Luhansk Region.

The talk was about the real history of the Luhansk Region — not fiction, not the “Russian world,” but facts:

  • who lived here before Kyivan Rus,
  • how Luhansk Region became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania,
  • why the Cossack roots of our cities are true,
  • and who actually industrialized the region (spoiler: not the Russians, but the Belgians).

It was a lively, frank conversation about the Luhansk Region, which is fighting, holding on, and remembering who it is.

Thank you for the initiative and the opportunity to learn more about our native land — as it really is.

Luhansk Region is Ukraine
