“Care Reform: Transformation of Social Services in Ukraine”

Associate professors of the Social Pedagogy Department took part in the event of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine “Care Reform: Transformation of Social Services in Ukraine.”
On June 25, 2025, associate professors of the Social Pedagogy Department of LTSNU Svitlana Tuntuieva and Natalia Lytvynova took part in a large-scale event of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine – “Care Reform: Transformation of Social Services in Ukraine”.
The event was organized in response to the current challenges of today: a full-scale war, massive internal displacement of the population, economic and demographic changes. In these conditions, the creation of an updated, effective and flexible system of social services, centered on the person and his needs, is extremely important.
During the event, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych, together with partners, presented the main directions of reforming the social services system. The participants of the event were presented with four key components of the reform:
- indicators and mechanisms for monitoring progress;
- a three-level model of social services (6 areas, 20 service packages);
- sources of funding;
- new mechanisms for ensuring accessibility and continuity of service provision.
Participation in the event gave the teachers of the Social Pedagogy Department the opportunity to join the discussion of important changes in the professional environment, exchange views with colleagues, and also get acquainted with the prospects for the development of the social sphere in Ukraine.
