New AI competencies: lecturers of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Banking of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University received advanced training certificates.
The Department of Finance, Accounting and Banking of LTSNU continues to integrate modern technologies into the educational process. In June 2025, the head of the department, Professor Viktor Trynchuk, Professor Yurii Klapkiv, Professor Nataliia Riazanova, and senior lecturer Iryna Zelenytsia successfully completed the prestigious advanced training course “Big Course on Artificial Intelligence in Education”, organized by the NGO “Progresylny” with the support of leading Ukrainian experts in the field of AI.
This intensive course of 1.5 ECTS credits (45 hours), which took place from May 26 to June 9, 2025, provided a deep understanding of the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. Representatives of our department were among 5,080 people from all over Ukraine who passed the test and deepened their knowledge in key aspects:
- Practical application of AI at the university: Strategies for implementing AI tools for administration, teaching and research.
- Legal and ethical framework: Analysis of legal aspects of using AI in education and ensuring academic integrity.
- New teaching methods: Changing educational programs, pedagogical approaches and developing personalized learning with the help of AI.
- Assessment in the AI era: Adapting methods for assessing student knowledge taking into account new technological realities.
- AI in scientific research: Using AI tools for data analysis, information search and optimization of research processes in the financial and economic spheres.
- Prompt engineering for education: Mastering practical skills in effective query generation (prompt engineering) to obtain the most useful results from AI tools in professional activities.
- AI development strategy in Ukraine: Understanding national trends and prospects.
- Particularly valuable for specialists in the financial and economic profile was the emphasis on responsible AI and the possibility of its application for modeling financial risks, analyzing large amounts of economic data, automating routine calculations, and improving the quality of training of specialists ready to work in the digital economy.
The course was distinguished by a high level of expertise.
The acquired knowledge and skills are already actively implemented by the department’s teachers into the educational process, which allows them to develop innovative educational modules using AI tools; to introduce modern methods of knowledge control, to train competitive specialists who are fluent in digital technologies of their profile, and to increase the efficiency of scientific and research work.
The Department of Finance, Accounting and Banking of LTSNU sincerely thanks the organizers – the NGO “Progresylni” – for providing an exceptional opportunity to improve their qualifications, to all speakers for the professionalism and depth of the materials presented, as well as to the moderators and the technical support team for the impeccable organization of the course. This experience is an important step in the development of modern, technologically equipped education at our university.
