Closing of the Plein Air Practice

The closing of the plein air practice took place in the educational workshops of the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts.

On June 16, the closing, review and evaluation of the results of the plein air practice of second-year students majoring in 023 “Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, Restoration” took place in the educational workshops of the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Arts of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The practice lasted from May 26 to June 15, 2025, during which students actively worked outdoors, improving their skills in natural studies and creative observations.

The final exhibition presented a wide range of works created by students in three weeks – landscape and architectural studies, sketches, including images of the head and human figure.

In the process of completing the tasks, the students used a variety of artistic techniques and materials, including: watercolor, oil paints, gouache, pastel, graphite and colored pencils, charcoal, sanguine, sepia, and ink.

Plein air practice is an integral part of the professional training of future artists and allows students not only to consolidate academic knowledge, but also to develop an individual artistic language, a sense of space, composition and color.

The completion of the practice was marked by a creative atmosphere, active discussion between students and teachers, as well as motivational feedback from mentors regarding further professional growth.
