Students of the ER IHCS joined the III regional stage of recreational sports among people with disabilities as volunteers.
On May 30, at the invitation of the head of the Lubny district branch of the NGO “All-Ukrainian Organization of the Union of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine” Tetiana Hordiienko, students of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports of LTSNU joined the III regional stage of recreational sports competitions among people with disabilities, which became a real celebration of strength of spirit, support and equality.
Vadym Demianchuk, a 4th year student majoring in“Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation”, joined the judging panel of the competition and acted as a judge in the darts discipline. Vadym responsibly approached the fulfillment of his duties, demonstrating a high level of organizational training, objectivity and professionalism. His participation in the event became an important practical component of future professional activities aimed at physical therapy and support for people with disabilities. In addition, Vadym distributed advertising and information booklets of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University among those present – those who want to, participants and guests of the event, contributing to the popularization of the higher education institution and its educational opportunities.
Another active participant in the competition is Kateryna Kryvets, a 3rd year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”. Kateryna acted in two roles at once – a volunteer and an athlete. She helped the organizers and participants of the event, accompanied people with disabilities during competitions, contributing to the creation of a friendly atmosphere, and also successfully took part in darts competitions, representing LTSNU.
These students are not the first to confirm their active life position, involvement in socially important events and desire for professional growth. The experience of participating in recreational sports competitions among people with disabilities will be invaluable for their future work, as it will help to better understand the needs of different categories of the population, to form empathy, tolerance and practical skills of inclusive interaction.
The Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University constantly supports such initiatives, as they form not only specialists, but also individuals with deep moral values, capable of changing society for the better. We are proud of our students and their contribution to the development of sports, inclusion and humanity!
Together we create a society of equal opportunities, mutual support and kindness.
