3.6.2025
The students of the ER ISHS attended a lecture about the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations – the unique history of women’s diplomacy of the Ukrainian diaspora.
Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, in particular Viktoriia Makarenko and Valeriia Ilnytska, attended an informative lecture dedicated to the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFOU) – a structure that has united Ukrainian women from 16 countries of the world for over 75 years.
This event opened to the audience unique pages of the history of the Ukrainian diaspora, permeated with courage, sacrifice and selfless work to preserve national identity. The lecture was built on the basis of archival documents, personal testimonies and speeches, which allowed creating a holistic picture of women’s leadership and diplomacy in emigration.
Special attention was paid to the role of Ukrainian women in revealing the truth about the tragic pages of our history – the Holodomor, the Soviet occupation and the modern war. The lecture was not just an information event, but a deep rethinking of the place of women in the struggle for national memory and truth.
The event once again demonstrated the importance of international solidarity and cultural diplomacy in the context of modern challenges facing Ukraine.
