A Regular Meeting of the Institute’s Council

On 28 May 2025, a regular meeting of the Institute’s Council was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism.
Several working issues were considered: the work of the student self-government, the results of the Days of Science at the Institute, and preparations for state certification. The Academic Council was attended by members of the student self-government who took an active part in the discussion.
In her speech, Student Director Sofia Nedohybchenko spoke about the main areas of work of the student self-government. She noted that the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism has intensified its work on organising student leisure. Students took part not only in events organised at the structural subdivision, but also in university-wide and all-Ukrainian events. These included the Day of the Translator, the Week of Japanese and Chinese Culture, meetings with writers, the intellectual and psychological game Mafia, a romantic event for Valentine’s Day with the Love Notes project, the AI contest I See Through Taras’s Eyes, the All-Ukrainian Literary Online Marathon Let’s Unite Souls with Kobzar’s Word, the Government is Open to Youth event organised by the Youth and Sports Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, and others. The students especially remembered an online quest with the participation of the SOR (Student Order of Investigators) and the LOST (Committee for the Search for Lost Teachers), where students searched together for a missing professor. This event helped to unite the student community and develop teamwork and creative thinking skills in a playful way. Information about the challenges and prospects of the Student Directorate was also presented.
Yaromyr Fundukian, Chairman of the Students’ Trade Union of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, reported on the work of the trade union during the academic year.
The members of the Institute’s Academic Council expressed their gratitude and praise for the work of the student activists.
The heads of the departments also provided information about the Days of Science in the structural unit. The participants heard information from Kateryna Bilobrovska, Deputy Director of the Institute for Academic Affairs, on the organisation of the final certification of bachelor’s degree graduates.
The tasks and areas of work of the teaching and research staff of the Institute for the future were also discussed.
