Round Table on the Role of Veterans and Volunteers

A round table was held at the Luhansk National University, dedicated to the role of veterans and volunteers in the formation of a new patriotic political culture.

On May 23, a round table was held at the Veteran Development Center of the Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University on the topic: “Social activity of veterans, volunteers and citizens with military experience as the basis of patriotic political culture for the reconstruction and defense of the state.”

The event brought together veterans, volunteers, representatives of local authorities, public organizations, scientists, educators and all those interested in creating a new Ukraine. Participation in the meeting was available both offline and online, which made it possible to involve a wide audience.

The event was moderated by Petro Vasylyovych VORONA, head of the Poltava regional branch of the NGO “Defense of the State”, Doctor of Public Administration, Professor of the Social Pedagogy Department of LTSNU. His expertise, many years of experience in the field of public administration and active civic position set a high tone for the discussion.

The Rector of Luhansk National University, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Olena Leonidivna KARAMAN addressed the participants with sincere words of welcome, emphasizing that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has always been and remains a center of state thinking, the formation of leaders of public opinion and a generator of ideas for the development of Ukraine. She emphasized that today’s defenders and volunteers are people who should be not only in the trenches, but also in the halls of parliament, in government structures, in local self-government.

The organizers of the event were:

  • NGO “Defense of the State”
  • VGO “Union of Officers of Ukraine”
  • Center for Veteran Development of Luhansk National University

The main goal of the round table is to form in society an understanding of the need to renew the political and administrative elite of Ukraine. It is important that those who have proven their loyalty to the Ukrainian state not in words but in deeds join this process – veterans, volunteers, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, young leaders who have been tested by war, but have retained faith in the country in their hearts.

This dialogue at the Veteran Development Center of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is not just a discussion, but a real step towards building a new Ukrainian society, where citizens with a high level of national consciousness and experience of service play a key role.

Together we are building the future of Ukraine – strong, democratic, patriotic!

Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion. Ahead is joint work for Victory and fair changes!
