Participation in the Discussion Platform “Dialogue of Cultures of Luhansk Oblast”

On May 21, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of History and Archaeology Oleksandr Naboka participated as a speaker in the regional online event “Discussion Platform: “Dialogue of Cultures of Luhansk Oblast”.

The online event was organized with the assistance of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Department of Culture, Nationalities, Religions and Tourism of the Luhansk Regional State Administration.

The event was held as part of the celebration of the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity, approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated December 27, 2024 No. 883/2024. The online forum was attended by leading figures in the museum, cultural, educational and scientific spheres of the Luhansk region, as well as representatives of certain nationalities that have lived in the region since ancient times.

In his report, Oleksandr Naboka focused on covering the history of the settlement of Luhansk region by representatives of different peoples, their intercivilizational dialogue, and analyzed the historical contribution of representatives of certain peoples to the development of the Luhansk region. He noted that in ancient times the region was historically a place of active cultural, technological, and economic interaction between various peoples. The historian considers further study of the above-mentioned aspects to be one of the priority tasks in the development of regional local history. The need to deepen further cooperation between leading cultural, scientific, and educational institutions of the Luhansk region in the process of implementing the above-mentioned tasks was emphasized.
