Sciences Day at the Lyceum

On 17 May, Viktoriia Dmytrenko, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, took part as a guest expert in an extraordinary event held at Pyriatyn Lyceum No. 4.

It hosted an affiliated (un)conference, the mini-EdCamp Pyriatyn 2025. A powerful team, led by the creative and unsurpassed director Larysa Shkurupiy, managed to unite active creative educators and scientists to share experiences, true professional unity, inspiration and new ideas. Under the slogan «Educational BOX of our strength. A community of free people», Poltava educators plunged into an extraordinary atmosphere of positive and high professionalism, opening up new ways of thinking, creativity and bold decisions. Among the guests of honour were: Tamara Kovalenko, Deputy Mayor, Lyudmila Zibnitskaya, Head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of Pyriatyn Community, Volodymyr Lisogor, Coordinator of the Educational Losses Recovery Programmes in Poltava Region Educational Institutions, and other distinguished guests.

The super-experts in their field held 16 extremely interesting master classes («Tutoring: the key to overcoming educational losses», «Modern teacher as a designer of the lyceum’s educational programme, facilitator and moderator of the choice of lyceum education content», «Lessons of happiness in primary school: practical developments and their application», «Gamification in the context of modern education. Application of gamification tools to increase the level of motivation of students», etc.) Important issues were discussed about the important aspects of the personality of a modern teacher, who must have not only knowledge and experience, but also be able to adapt, be flexible, creative, and believe in the potential of each child, because a new educational reality is being born today.

During the panel discussion on «Reform in Modern Ukrainian Education – Specialised High School Education», the participants discussed and reflected on the problems and prospects of one of the most important educational reforms, discussed the losses and prospects of lyceum education from 2027.

Natalia Miedinova, better known as Auntie Panda, maintained a positive atmosphere and a driving mood. Her extraordinary energy inspired us to work hard and helped us understand one of the ways to prevent professional burnout.

We are sincerely grateful to our colleagues for the opportunity to join the grand event in the educational community of Poltava region.
