19.5.2025
Lecturers of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology joined the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How Are You?”
On May 16, lecturers of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology of our university — Yulia Nuzhna and Ihor Zhurba — took part in an event within the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How Are You?”. The event was held at the Poltava State Agrarian University and brought together representatives of the academic community, psychologists and mental health practitioners from different parts of the country.
What is “How are you?” and why is it important?
The “How are you?” program is an initiative launched with the support of the Office of the First Lady of Ukraine in cooperation with WHO, which aims to normalize the dialogue about mental health in Ukrainian society. The slogan of the program — “Caring for mental health is the norm” — emphasizes the importance of psychological resilience, emotional literacy and mutual support in conditions of uncertainty, war and constant social challenges.
The aim of the event was to draw attention to the importance of maintaining mental health, developing empathy and a culture of caring for oneself and others in everyday life and in the educational space. Participants discussed the challenges of modernity, shared their experience of implementing the mental component in the educational process and received practical tools to support psychological resilience.
Participation in such initiatives is an important step towards the formation of a healthy society in which caring for mental well-being is the norm, not the exception.
