Vyshyvanka Day at LTSNU – a Symbol of Unity, Pride and Love for Ukraine

On May 15, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University solemnly and enthusiastically celebrated World Vyshyvanka Day.

Vyshyvanka Day is a holiday that annually unites Ukrainians around the world around a national symbol that personifies genetic memory, generational continuity, strength, beauty, and identity of our people.

The idea of the holiday — preserving Ukrainian values and traditions and popularizing them among youth and society in general — found a passionate response in the hearts of everyone who came to the university that day.

The entire staff of the university — teachers, students, employees, and administration — dressed in vyshyvanka. Multi-colored ornaments fluttered in the corridors, auditoriums, reading rooms, and scientific laboratories — an atmosphere of celebration, warmth, and pride reigned everywhere.

Smiles on faces, confidence in eyes, and love for their native culture in hearts. Vyshyvanka Day has become a true celebration of the Ukrainian spirit, unity, and invincible nation.

The rector of the university, Olena KARAMAN, together with the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization, Volodymyr MOROZ, walked through all the decorated locations of the institution, visited the expositions, met with the participants of the festive event, sincerely thanked everyone for their efforts, enthusiasm and active participation. They noted that each exposition is a separate story, a work of the soul, a contribution to the preservation of national identity.

During the day, pleasant words were spoken, many sincere conversations were held, thematic photo sessions were held, a Ukrainian song was played, and most importantly, unity and an unbroken connection of generations were felt.

The celebration ended with collective photos for remembrance, which will preserve emotions, bright faces and warm memories of this special day within the walls of their native Alma Mater.

Vyshyvanka Day at LNU is more than a holiday. This is everyone’s conscious position: to protect, honor and multiply Ukrainian.
