“Expelled, but not Broken”

Today, the Brianka Professional College held an hour of historical truth “Expelled, but not broken” for students.

May 18 is the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide, a tragic date associated with the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea in 1944.

Studying the history of deportation and its consequences is important not only for the formation of historical knowledge, but also for the development of civic consciousness, sensitivity to human rights issues a

During the event, those terrible times were recalled:

– the mass deportation of 1944, when over 200 thousand Crimean Tatars were deported in a few days;
– the conditions of transportation in cattle cars, where thousands of people died on the way;
– life in exile, where people died from hunger, disease and hard labor.

The genocide of the Crimean Tatar people is a crime that has no statute of limitations. Our duty is to remember and prevent its recurrence.

Remembering the past, we affirm the right of every people to freedom, dignity and their own home.
